Journey's End

Just east of Portland Oregon looking back at the Columbia River Gorge area. Lewis and Clarke must have been ecstatic to have reached the end of their outward journey. Imagine the  joy that the settlers must have felt after almost a year on the trail to finally be reaching the end of the trail. This is one of the most beautiful stretches on the Interstate system.

This is an Outrage!!!

I have reached the breaking point with these round bales. Everyone needs to call their local ASPCA and get them to ban these outrageous things. How much cruelty must the poor animals endure, before they can finally get a square meal? This image is from the great state of South Dakota.

Visiting the neighbors.

I grabbed the camera Friday morning and wet for a walk taking my dog Scout with me. He had to stop and sat hello to the neighbors  horses. It has taken awhile but we have gotten him to quit trying to herd them. He has some herd dog in him and he seemed to do it on instinct. Now a voice command will get him to stop.

First Snow

While I was at home we got our first real snow of the year. Most of it was gone soon afterwards but as you can see some stayed. I love the early fog we get during the winter months. The more time I spend in this valley the more I love it.

Vegas Revisited

Finding an image for the web site this week was a little tough. since I am passing through Las Vegas again I thought I would post another image that I took last time that I was here, and had the time to go down to the Strip.

Morning on piers of Long Beach.

I just loaded at the port in Long Beach California. I was up long before the sun and got to enjoy watching it rise. Early morning light can really make for some beautiful images.

Another image from Long Beach Ca.

Since I didn't get any shooting done this week I thought I would share another image from my sunrise experience. These ships were just out side the breakwater waiting to come into the port and unload. The sunrise here can vary from day to day. When the fog is in it takes on a whole new dimension, which is one reason why I enjoy loading there.

On my way home

As I was on my way home for the holidays I was treated to this sunset, and there was room to pull over long enough to get the shot. There are some things in the works that may just change the whole look of this page. which is why I have been reluctant to do too much in the way of updating it.

Utah on my mind.

I just had the pleasure of meeting author Tory Lynn in Cedar City Utah. She and her family invited me over to their house and fed me very well during an evening of lively discussion. I only wish that I had been able to spend more time there so that I could have gotten some images of that area while it is still blanketed in snow. Since I didn't get any images I decided to post this image from an earlier trip to Southern Utah. To check out her web site just click on her name above.
