Viva Las Vegas
Where else can you have breakfast in New York, lunch in
Paris, and Dinner at King Arthur's Court? Nowhere but in this oasis in the
Nevada desert. It was also the home of one of my fellow writers
Dave Jamesson
unfortunately Dave passed away a few months ago. his book is still available
though. Just click on his name to find out more.

From the Archives
I didn't get any shooting done this week due to circumstances
beyond my control. So I dug out this shot of my favorite horse, even if it does
belong to my brother-in-law he is a great animal. Every time I see him I wonder
where his Indian rider is. Fortunately he is spending the summer in my pasture,
so I get to spend time with him every time I get home. His name is Sunny Boy,
and the name fits him well.

Arizona rest area.
Once again I found myself traversing the Great state of
Arizona. At one rest area along side I-10 I took a break and found this little
critter flitting around with a bunch of his friends. So I thought I would share
this with everyone.

The other horse on our ranch
While Sunny Boy gets the most attention due to his coloring
BJ or Big John is the one who is gentle enough to even let the grand daughters
ride. He was once owned by a Forest Ranger and is one mellowest horses I know.

Something Different for me.
I normally pull a trailer with three axels, this week the
company asked me to go up to Alberta Canada and pick up a brand new specialty
trailer that they had purchased. When completely set up it will have twelve
axels on the ground and weigh out at close to 100 tons. That is a lot more
trailer than I want to pull but it was interesting to pull it down to the yard
in southern Oregon for them.

Another image from Montana.
This was taken the same time as the one above. The lone tree
on the rock caught my attention. Since I am running across West Texas again this
week I thought another view Montana would be good.

No this not a UFO.
It is a Lunar Landing Module Trainer. I had some time to get
from Pensacola to Houston so I stopped at the John C Stennis Space Center
on the Mississippi/Louisiana state line. This is visible from the interstate and
had caught my attention many times. Next time I hope to get there earlier and
catch the tour out to the actual test site where all of the engines that have
been used since the Apollo program have been tested.

Navajo Country
Since I am a big fan of
Tony Hillerman's Navajo
Police novels and since I was in that area today I thought I would share this
image of the chapel at Laguna New Mexico which is close to the Big Res of
Hillerman's books

This one was calling me
I stopped in a rest area and was walking around when this guy
started singing. He almost posed for me. Every time I would move away from the
tree he was in he would sing till I stopped.

Fall in our valley
Once again Mother Nature has taken her brush to the Aspens in
the valley where we live. These horses belong to my Brother-in-law who
also lives directly across the valley from us. I'm not sure which season enjoy
most when I am at home on the ranch.

Another view of our valley
It has been a busy week and so I am posting another image
from my trip home. With my first snow storm of the season behind me I realize I
am not ready for full winter just yet. I hit snow in Montana and it followed me
through Wyoming and into Colorado. So to keep it light let's see one more look
at fall before winter. This is our main road dressed in fall foliage.
