Now if we can just get past Christmas.
These turkeys managed to survive this Holiday Season but will
they make it past Christmas. Since they are wild birds and the hunting season
isn't till spring I think they will do fine. I hope everyone had a good
Thanksgiving.

Tis the Season
Well it is that time of year again. Christmas is right around
the corner and the snow is falling. While it can make driving a pain it also
creates some beautiful scenes, and creates some photographic challenges. This
image comes from a rest area near North Platte NE.

One of the reasons I do what I do.
Every once in a while a scene presents it self that just
takes the breath away. This one was on I-80 in Wyoming. Scenes like this one are
part of the reason that people leave their homes to roam the highways delivering
goods all over the country. My photos are truly feeble attempt to capture the
beauty of what I got to see by being there.

Watching the Ice melt.
I got to load during an ice storm in Kernersville NC.
Everything was going very slow to make sure no one got hurt, which left me time
to just watch the icicles on my truck melt while I was waiting. Not all of my
job is fun and games, but what the heck I still do it everyday. Now if my gloves
would just dry out.

At home in the snow
My daughter brought her dog Jax with them when they came over
for Christmas. He loves the snow, can you tell? Fortunately we had plenty of it
for him to play in, along with my Grandkids.

After the leaves have gone.
Remember those aspens that were dressed in their Fall
finery? Well the leaves have gone and the snow has replaced them. This again was
taken from the porch of our house on the Round 2 It Ranch.

The Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains
The road from Carson City Nevada south to Bishop California
has some spectacular scenery, unfortunately there are few places to park a semi
long enough to get the photos I wanted to take. I did finally find this spot
though. What a way to start the New Year.

What is that your hauling?
Consider this as a public service announcement. I am often
asked what this is. It is part of a wind generator. This is the housing that
holds all of the major working parts and sits on top of the tower, around 250
feet in the air. At this point it is just a fiberglass housing, after it is
loaded with the generator, and the shaft that the hub and blades will be
attached to it requires at least 9 axels to haul.

Foggy morning at Long Beach Ca.
Since I am loading tomorrow morning at the Port of Long Beach
I thought that this would be appropriate. The early mornings can have a very
unique feel as the fog rolls in off of the Pacific. The tugs moving in and out
guiding the bigger ships in to dockside add to the feeling of constant energy.

Oregon back roads.
Oregon is a land of many faces, the high deserts of the east
and the forests of central Oregon and of course one of the most beautiful
coastlines in the world. I had the pleasure of running up from
central Nevada along the back roads like this one.

On the Wing
Since I am at home this weekend my wife and I went for a
drive looking for photos. We came upon this hawk sitting in this tree beside the
road. He was nice enough to hang around till I got a number of images. This is
my favorite of the group.
