The Spirit of Christmas is Alive and Well!, May 18, 2005
I must tell you that I really enjoyed this book. What a spirit Edd Voss has! I
got tears in my eyes as Ken gave up his room for the family stranded in the
snowstorm and when he saves the young lady and her nephew from the icy waters.
Mr. Voss writes with a lot of heart. I am writing this review for A Tree For
America. I hope I can come close to doing it justice. Edd Voss has written a
beautiful and heartwarming story that takes you along for the ride across the
United States to deliver the nation's Christmas tree to the White House. Along
the way you will be treated to the scenery of our great nation and become
involved, yourself, in the life on the road. The Spirit of Christmas is alive
and well! This is a book that will leave you with a warm feeling and a smile on
your face. Beautifully done!

Go and do likewise..., July 19, 2005
A new twist on the classic Christmas story, this is a book that will convict you
if you are a "Scrooge," or convince you of the deeper meaning of "real religion"
if you already have faith.
As he travels across the country with his companion to deliver a Christmas tree
to the White House, Ken Rainey describes the view of America as he sees it. The
reader begins to appreciate what America really means to those of us who travel
through life in this country--we are free to find the beautiful and reveal it to
others, as Ken does, or to destroy its freedom by not caring.
Ken Rainey is a real man who reaches out to the world wherever he travels and
offers a helping hand. He is the original "Good Samaritan" who stops along the
road to give assistance and save the lives of two people, thus giving the
example of love to a fellow traveler, Anjer, whose reluctant heart gradually
changes from disbelief and scorn or just indifference and boredom, to belief in
the meaning of Christmas. The message of having first received God's grace and
forgiveness binding us to "Go and do likewise" is deeply imbedded in this story.
Religion is, after all, simply caring for one's neighbor as oneself. Ken Rainey,
an unconscious messenger doing his job, becomes the deliverer of a "change of
heart" in Anjer, as well as a Christmas tree to the White House.
Highly recommended for a Christmas gift to someone you love.

Author Edd Voss has written a story I feel is to become a classic tale of
Christmas for readers young and old. "A Tree for America" is a heartfelt tale
full of warmth, generosity, love of family, neighbor, and country. Climb aboard
Ken Rainey's semi as he and Robert Anjer; two very different men, travel across
country; from Washington state to Washington DC, to deliver America's Christmas
tree to the White House.
Experience life on the road as only a true trucker sees it. I guarantee you will
have a new respect for the truck drivers who move this country along on our
highways and byways, for their spirit of community is unwavering...
The best Christmas story I have ever read., April 25, 2006
Delightful Story; "A Tree For America."
Edd Voss has told a story with lasting qualities. He enchants the reader with
romance, travel, and beauty. Simply told about a truck driver, Ken Rainey and
his passenger Robert Anjer on a journey to deliver the traditional Christmas
tree to the White House.
In a most beautiful and subtle way Mr. Voss has shown us the true meaning of
Christmas. Without a single word about religion, he has explained by showing us
rather than preaching to us. He reveals the true meaning of love, giving,
compassion, and acceptance. This is by far the best Christmas story that I have
ever read.
This story also has explained some background of how a truck driver spends his
time on the job and on the road. I will never bite into an apple again without
feeling grateful to the truck driver that delivered this food for my pleasure.
